One of the most important habits we can grow in is knowing how to pray through the Word of God. When we don't just read, but also meditate on Scripture, we incorporate it into our prayers and find ourselves in a deep and rich communion with the Lord. In this sermon, real life examples are given to show how everyone can do this in a way that enlivens and deepens and focuses their prayer lives, leaving them not restless from yet another empty, frustrated prayer, but instead filled in Christ from their time of closeness and fellowship with Him.
ABOUT THIS SERIES: Every year, we kick off our year together "recalibrating" the direction we are heading in and adjusting our sails, so to speak, in order to make sure we are keeping in step with Christ. We look specifically this year, firstly, at what exactly our purpose and mission is. From there, we will spend the following six sermons looking at the specific tools that God gives us that help us fulfill our purpose and mission. These are, namely, the Word of God, prayer, and Gospel community. How do we utilize these tools to help us grow deeper in Christ and be built up in Him, rather than just seeing them as items to check off of our list? How can these become conduits for real change and powerful transformation, rather than just religious duties? Join us in this journey as we aim to know Jesus more and more deeply.
