Jesus Doesn't Tolerate Hypocrisy

"

In this sermon, Jesus enters into Jerusalem, making known that He is indeed the King of kings. But He finds lots of hypocrisy, false religion, and outer show. He turns over the tables in the Temple and curses a fig tree. How do these two relate as He shows His disdain for phony religion? When we are depending on and hiding behind our own goodness, we may look like a good, healthy fig tree, but inside, we are dying. God despises this kind of outer hypocrisy.

Remember Your Leaders

Many of us carry quiet wounds from church. From leaders we trusted. From people who should have cared for us. And over time, those wounds can shape how we hear Scripture… or whether we want to hear it at all. Hebrews says, “Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith” (Hebrews 13:7). This isn’t a call to ignore pain or excuse abuse. It’s an invitation to look past broken people and see the faithfulness of Jesus. The same Christ yesterday, today, and forever. This message invites us to let Scripture interpret our experience, to rest our trust in the Good Shepherd, and to find healing, joy, and hope again in Him.

Scripture References: Hebrews 13:17-19, Hebrews 13:7
