Living in a Fishbowl: Anniversary, Elder Candidate Announcement

"

Christians ought to desire to live their lives in a fishbowl: open, transparent, and exposed in a way that the world can see in. In a culture that loves privacy, faux social media imagery, pulled down shades and tinted windows, we need to be people who are willing to let others in at the expense of our own convenience and privacy. We ought to do this, because this is exactly what our God did as He left His utopia home of privacy and entered into this world to become known, and also to be made bare, all for our sake. On this day, we celebrate 7 years to the day of our first gathering as a small group of about 20 people at Pastor Jobey's house. Earlier in the service we celebrated the Parent Dedications for parents who recently had babies; during this sermon we announce two new Elder Candidates to be assessed within our church community. And after this service, over 165 people would gather at Pastor Jobey's house to witness new believers in our church become baptized.
