Jesus Doesn't Accuse You, He Defends You

"

When God devised His plan to send a Savior for us, He wanted us to be prepared to recognize Him. Hundreds of years before Jesus was even born, there were many things declared about the coming Savior in order to point His people to Him, that they would know it was Him. All of these point to Jesus. Throughout this series, we'll be looking at various Old Testament prophecies that point to Jesus, and in particular we will go through one of the most powerful sections of Scripture that illuminates the life and ministry of the Messiah: Isaiah 53. In this sermon, we see the demeanor and response of the Messiah, who would become like a Lamb who was being shorn and stripped before His accusers. But when accused, He does not fight back, but He stands silent, taking the punishment. Even today, as we accuse Him of wrongdoing, not providing enough, or not doing things our way, He does not open His mouth against us. But when He does open His mouth it is in our defense, because the enemy, and our own hearts, are constantly accusing us before the Father. But Jesus is our Advocate, the Lamb that was slain for us.
