Are You Good Enough?

"

Oftentimes, the truth hurts. It pushes on our egos, our pride, our self-made image and identity. Our natural reaction is to push back, to defend, or distract. But the truth is meant to be for our good. To help us, change us, and heal us. Jesus does not leave us in the dark, wondering where we stand with God. He tells us the truth of our standing on our own, which in itself is hard truth, but then gives us the way to be in right standing with God. And that answer can feel like adding insult to injury! But, like good medicine, it may at first taste offensive to us, when we receive it, it brings life, joy, peace, and healing. Jesus offers Himself as the medicine for our sin-sick souls, and He offers it for our good. ABOUT THIS SERIES: The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you may have life in His Name" (John 20.30). The Apostle John, as an eyewitness and close friend of Jesus', desires for us to behold His beauty, love, and glory, and believe in His power and willingness to being forgiveness and life. As we journey through the Gospel of John, we will behold the life, teachings, works, and ministry of Jesus, and will hear straight from Him who He said He is, so that we would more deeply put our hope and trust in the Man who is God.
