The Bad News of Being Good Enough: Easter Sunday

"

Can you imagine what it would be like to take a class where you never quite knew if you were passing until the very end? How horrible would you feel to get to the end of the semester only to find out that your efforts weren't good enough and you had failed! In life, however, the Bible is very clear about what God requires and that the 'good enough' mark is well beyond what any of us can attain. Thankfully, there is good news for those of us who have fallen short, and the message of Easter is one of hope. Not hope that we can get our act together...not hope that we can somehow boost our efforts and make the grade...but hope in Jesus, the Son of God who was Good Enough! Jesus is our living hope, and in His death and resurrection we can have certainty in our own eternal standing with the Father! ABOUT THIS SERIES: The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you may have life in His Name" (John 20.30). The Apostle John, as an eyewitness and close friend of Jesus', desires for us to behold His beauty, love, and glory, and believe in His power and willingness to being forgiveness and life. As we journey through the Gospel of John, we will behold the life, teachings, works, and ministry of Jesus, and will hear straight from Him who He said He is, so that we would more deeply put our hope and trust in the Man who is God.
