God's Desire for His Glory Among the Nations

"

Advent means "the arrival," usually of a significant person or event. As we look at "the arrival" of God's promised Savior, we will take these 4 weeks to ask 4 questions: Why is God's desire for His own glory among the nations the the thing that is both the fuel and goal of His passion? What was His plan to achieve this glory, and how does it affect us? How has He planned to further His glory and make known His glory for the sake of the nations being glad? What will it look like when His plan and mission is finally realized? In this sermon, we look and see that the main motivation for God to bless us and save us is not for our own sake, primarily, but for the sake of His Name, that He would be glorified. But we also see that this "self-exaltation" is to our great benefit, and is indeed the most loving and gracious thing He could do. How does this change the way we live, and the way we set the goals of our lives?
