Rejecting Jesus

"

It isn't easy to follow Jesus. His teachings are challenging, His message of dying to self is one of humility and brokenness. In this story, many of His own disciples can't bear listening any longer, and so they turn away. Every day, we have the choice to either follow Christ in His teaching and example, or we can go our own way. And though the other way is easier, more comfortable, and more suited to our liking, we also have to ask ourselves, as Peter did in this story, "to whom else shall we go?" What other real option do we have, if we have come to know that Jesus actually has the words to eternal life? Is there really any other way? ABOUT THIS SERIES: The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you may have life in His Name" (John 20.30). The Apostle John, as an eyewitness and close friend of Jesus', desires for us to behold His beauty, love, and glory, and believe in His power and willingness to being forgiveness and life. As we journey through the Gospel of John, we will behold the life, teachings, works, and ministry of Jesus, and will hear straight from Him who He said He is, so that we would more deeply put our hope and trust in the Man who is God.
