CloseThe Old Testament system of sacrifices was temporary, a shadow that could never truly cleanse our conscience. It was designed to point to something better—to Jesus, our perfect High Priest. He entered the heavenly sanctuary not with the blood of animals, but with His own blood, securing an eternal redemption for us. The blood of Jesus is far more effective than the blood of bulls and goats. It has the power to purify our conscience, freeing us from dead works so that we can serve the living God. Jesus is the mediator of a new and better covenant, and through His death, we receive an eternal inheritance. Because of this ultimate sacrifice, we are now called to offer our own bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God.
