James is often considered the "Proverbs of the New Testament." James wrote this letter primarily to Jewish converts to Christianity around 60 AD. They had been experiencing a lot of external trials and persecution, as well as internal temptation, and needed to be encouraged in their faith. James offers practical wisdom for the Christian life. In this sermon, James warns people that not many should become teachers, because there is a stricter judgment. Why is this so, and how does this affect not just Teachers and Pastors, but how does it also dramatically shape the local church, and the lives of those who are in them?
