P.R.A.Y. in Jesus' Name

"

We sometimes think of God's work being accomplished in the world through grand, significant acts done by missionaries, famous speakers, theologians, full-time pastors, etc. But we forget that for the majority of Jesus' life, He was none of these...His formal ministry didn't even begin until He was about 30. Clearly Jesus was serving and ministering to those around him prior to that, while working in construction and living amongst His friends and family. So how would Jesus live if He had the life you do now? With your job, and friends and family...warts and all? Would He pray that God would give Him a change of scenery? Would He ask for change in those around Him to make His life a little easier? Or would He go about His Father's business, serving and loving those around Him, right where they were? Today, as you look at the life God has given you and the people He has placed around, pray for His work to be done in and through you and that others would be blessed as a result. ABOUT THIS SERIES: The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you may have life in His Name" (John 20.30). The Apostle John, as an eyewitness and close friend of Jesus', desires for us to behold His beauty, love, and glory, and believe in His power and willingness to being forgiveness and life. As we journey through the Gospel of John, we will behold the life, teachings, works, and ministry of Jesus, and will hear straight from Him who He said He is, so that we would more deeply put our hope and trust in the Man who is God.
