Faith Without Evidence is Fake
James is often considered the "Proverbs of the New Testament." James wrote this letter primarily to Jewish converts to Christianity around 60 AD. They had been experiencing a lot of external trials and persecution, as well as internal temptation, and needed to be encouraged in their faith. James offers practical wisdom for the Christian life. In this sermon, James challenges continues writing about the reality that if we claim to have faith, we better have evidence to prove that it is genuine. It is very possible for us to simply think we are believers and in right standing with God, but in reality be deceived. James is clear, if we claim to be believers but our actions don't line up with our words, we should be deeply concerned.
