This past Sunday we got to hear from John Duarte, one of the pastors at The Fields Church in Carlsbad. John preached from 2 Corinthians on the mysterious and powerful work God does in our lives through affliction. We heard how God is present and brings comfort in the midst of our afflictions, that He uses affliction to grow us and turn us into comforters of the afflicted around us, and that his power is often on full display in affliction. This week, as hard as it may be or as strange as it may sound, take a moment to thank God for the afflictions in your life, knowing that He is specifically at work in them and will bring about good.
