Kids on Mission

Our children’s ministry, Kids on Mission (commonly referred to as “KOM”) is incredibly important to us. We want to see our kids saved by the Gospel, equipped in the Gospel, and sent with the Gospel into their schools, neighborhoods, and families.

Classroom Age Groups

We have classes for kids from newborns all the way through 5th grade, and we start every Sunday morning with worship followed by a lesson that points the kids towards Jesus and helps root them in the Word of God.

    • Nursery: 0 – 2 years

    • Preschool: 3 years – TK (Transitional Kindergarten)

    • Lower Elementary: K – 2nd Grade

    • Upper Elementary: 3rd – 5th Grade*

*These older 3rd-5th grade students are signed in at the Kids’ Connect desk when you arrive, and then accompany you (the parents) to the adult sanctuary for family worship. After worship they are dismissed and their teacher will be waiting in the back of the room to account for each student and return, as a group, to their classroom.

Safety & Security

All of our KOM team members have been screened with a background check for extra security. If your child is visiting KOM for the first time, a team member will walk you through registering them with our check-in system. Try to arrive about 10 minutes before the service starts to get your children checked-in in time for the adult worship.

The Gospel Project Curriculum

In our newborn – 8th grade classes we are using The Gospel Project Curriculum. This is a 3 year curriculum that immerses the kids in the Gospel through every story, theological concept, and call to mission from Genesis to Revelation. The aim of this curriculum is for the kids to understand that the Bible is not just a collection of stories, but one unified story – God’s story of redemption.

How does it work?

Each lesson purposefully points the kids towards Jesus (not good works or simple obedience and morality), and helps root them in the Word of God.  Over the 3 year cycle the kids will get an incredible understanding of how the Old Testament paves the way towards Jesus, and how the New Testament reveals Jesus!

What’s great about this format is that all the kids are going through the SAME section of Scripture every week, but it is varied in depth and challenge for each class, uniquely age-appropriate for them; from worship songs, videos, in-class activities, to scripture memory.

There is also a take-home activity/discussion sheet that you, the parents, can review with your kids to keep up-to-date with what they’re learning and spark some great family discussions about the bible.
