Paul's letter to the Philippians is a deeply personal letter written to a church that he started 10 years previous under unlikely circumstances. The letter is an encouragement for more brotherly unity, to pursue joy in all circumstances, and to see and hold Christ as more precious than anything else. It's a letter that each Christian and every church needs to hear and believe for deep heart change and to see God's glory in their lives in the most powerful and unlikely ways.In this sermon, Paul tells the Philippians that he has a prayer for them to grow in their love and knowledge of Christ, and the reason for this is because as we grow in knowing who He is, we are able to discern what is truth and what is false; what gives life and what brings death.
One of the greatest joys of the Spirit's work in your salvation is knowing that He is actively writing your life story and enabling you to live for Him. You can take comfort knowing that your sanctification and growth come entirely from God, as His Spirit powerfully works within you. He provides all you need to grow and change—a foundational promise and gift of the New Covenant in Jesus Christ.
