The Gift of Adoption

"

God's Word tells us that 'flesh and blood' aren't able to reveal to us that Jesus truly is God. We can't simply 'see' this on our own, but it must be God who reveals it to us. Why is this the case? Spiritually, we are dead and blind, and like how a physically dead man can't see or understand physical things, a spiritually blind man can't see or understand spiritual things. A dead man must be raised, and not by his own power, but by an outside power. Being declared 'not guilty' is God's mercy. But being called 'adopted' and made spiritually alive is His grace. We must understand that the day we are adopted, everything changes. ABOUT THIS SERIES: The Gospel of John was written "that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in Him you may have life in His Name" (John 20.30). The Apostle John, as an eyewitness and close friend of Jesus', desires for us to behold His beauty, love, and glory, and believe in His power and willingness to being forgiveness and life. As we journey through the Gospel of John, we will behold the life, teachings, works, and ministry of Jesus, and will hear straight from Him who He said He is, so that we would more deeply put our hope and trust in the Man who is God.

Scripture References: John 1:6-13
